teams participate in a competitive schedule of tournaments.
Wrecking Crew Volleyball Club offers a program with its own executive staff, which manages the overall operation and administration of the club.
Our coaching staff is high committed to the success of each individual player and team. Our coaches are selected based

Club Policies
As
a Wrecking Crew volleyball player, you should be willing to commit to becoming the best volleyball player you can be.
It requires many hours of hard work, a willingness to learn and listen, dedication to your team, respect for your coaches
and most importantly, a POSITIVE ATTITUDE.
- Be Respectful
- Be on time to practice, tournaments and team meetings
- Attend every practice
and give 100% to your workout

fine and your playing time will be limited at the next tournament! We will only allow each
player to miss one practice that is not an emergency.
*If you are late to a tournament you will be fined $25
for every five minutes late! If you have to miss a tourney and do not notify your coach within a week before
hand you will be fined $75!
- It is your responsibility to put up and take down the nets.
Please take the time to hang the nets neatly. Remember, we are fortunate to “borrow” them. We can
not afford to loose that privilege.
- All players will call lines and keep score. You are expected to remain
with your team to complete these duties at a tournament, even if you are not working that match. If you choose to leave
anyway you will be fined a $30.
- You are required to notify your coach if you expect to miss a practice or match.
Expect to follow your individual team’s policies regarding disciplinary action for absenteeism. (Please
remember if you have a no call or show you will be fined $30 and this will have to be paid in order to compete at the next

Season Length and Tournaments
The open volleyball season for Wrecking Crew begins after the state finals for high school
volleyball and concludes in March.
Obviously the more
tournaments players attend, the better their chance to improve their play by being exposed to the best competition in the
state. Tournaments will also bring players and parents in contact with college coaches who regularly scout major tournaments.
Wrecking Crew Volleyball Club will participate in somewhere between 5-6 tournaments during the season, depending on the age
level.
Most tournaments last only two days and are held on Saturday
and Sunday. On Saturday you will play your pool play and maybe one bracket game. You
will return on Sunday and finish out bracket play. We will have 3-two day tournaments and 2-one day tournaments.
One Day tournaments are held on Saturday.
Because of long tournament days, food and drink in coolers are recommended. All food and drink (even if it
is in a cooler) must be kept outside the gym area at all playing sites. Athletes are asked to bring nutritious food
as sandwiches’, fruit, vegetables, and fruit drinks, and water. This system has proven to be more effective than
running out for fast food between matches because most tournaments there is rarely enough time to leave the gym for extend
periods. Participants are usually playing, helping with refereeing duties, or receiving a small break for a rest and
eating.
PRACTICES
The Wrecking Crew coaching staff will determine practice days and times. Due to school activities
and gym availability, practices will be held on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. On occasion, practice times
and places are changed on short notice due to unforeseen conflicts. Every effort is made to follow schedules as closely
as possible. Please be cooperative if schedules are changed.
Players
are expected to arrive for practice by the designed starting time. Athletes should be at practice early enough to help
with the court preparations and to begin stretching and warm-up. Athletes should wear appropriate practice attire: volleyball
shoes, athletic socks, athletic shorts, and t-shirt. Jewelry and gum are not allowed at practice, and food and drinks
are not allowed in the gym.
If a player must miss a practice,
a telephone call to their respective coach is required at least three hours before the schedule practice.
Try to inform the coach as early as possible so they can adjust the practice plans. Each practice session is very important
to the development of the athlete and the team. Please remember if you have a no call or a no show you will
be fined $30 and this will have to be paid in order to compete at the next practice or tourney.

PLAYER/PARENT AND COACH RELATIONSHIPS
General Guidelines:
Parents and coaches are key components to any successful youth program and that is certainly true. Wrecking Crew Volleyball
Club can teach positive character traits, such as cooperation, self-discipline and work ethic, but it is difficult to attain
the desirable traits if the adults around them fail to set the proper example. Parents and coaches must refrain from
criticizing opposing players, other parents, and especially any player on the team.
As spectators, a parent’s enthusiasm may make him/her prone to give instructions to
the players that are contrary to those of the coach. This can cause confusion for young players. Parents, please
encourage all the athletes to follow their coaches’ instructions, and leave the coaching to the coach.
Because they often have different agendas there is rarely a perfect
fit between the goals and priorities of the coach with the goals and priorities every parent on a team. However, due
to their mutual interest in the player’s development as an athlete and a person, coaches and parents can come to a better
understanding of each other’s perspectives. One thing parents can so to ally themselves with the coaches is to
teach their daughters how to cope with some of the inherent frustrations that arise when one is a member of a team.
Parents should instruct their daughters in behaviors that communicate to the coach that they
have a high level of commitment to volleyball. The most effective way to facilitate communication with the coach is
to display a high level of commitment to the activity. Any astute observer of teams in training comes to understand
that those players who display the greatest zeal for the activity are the ones who receive the best attention from their coaches
